One of our 2000 Christmas series, this is one of the two angels.

Bob and I thought it would be a good idea to create some
dolls for the holidays. After much discussion and drawing we came up with 3
designs we both like. There 
are
two angels and one that is just dressed for the holiday parties. Both of the
angels are made in such a way that the halo and wings can be removed and
displayed all year around. As with all of our dolls, they are one of a kind and
we didn't use patterns that could be recreated later.
Christine
is one of the angels for the 2000 Christmas season. She is dressed in a velvet
and silk stain gown with chiffon wings and a crystal halo. Her gown has an under
skirt of cream silk satin, cut full to give just the right amount of softness.
The top skirt, bodice and sleeves are made of a hunter green crushed velvet we
found on one of our buying trips. The skirt is cut full to give lots of volume
and draping. It is split in front and the corners are pulled back and held in
place by dark red tassels. Her belt is of gold cording that is doubled and tied
in back and then allowed to dangle almost to the hem of her skirt. Her bodice
has a scoop neck and tapered to fit her tiny waist closely. She has big blousy sleeves
that have an insert of the same silk satin you find in the under skirt. Her
sleeves are pinched and held together with a satin rose and a pearl. Giving her
bodice that final touch is lace trimming around her neck and sleeves.
She
has a necklace of garnets and gold tone beads, and at her waist, she is wearing
a vintage piece of jewelry that made of gold filigree and red crystals. She is
also wearing matching gold and
red crystal clusters in her hair right at the temples. She carries with her a
wreath made of greenery and gold tone and red beads. Her wings are made of
chiffon, a custom design of ours. They are removable, and pose able. These are
made of hunter green and 
cream
chiffon to match her gown.
